Corrections Policy

Last updated: May 23, 2026

Accuracy is non-negotiable at Futbolzen. This Corrections Policy explains how we identify, fix, and disclose errors in published content.

1. Our Commitment

We aim to correct factual errors quickly and transparently. We do not silently edit articles to mask mistakes. Where a correction materially changes the meaning of an article, we say so on the page.

2. How to Report an Error

If you believe an article contains a factual error, email [email protected] with:

  • The article URL;
  • The specific passage or claim you believe is wrong;
  • A source or evidence supporting your version of the facts (where possible).

You can also use our Contact page. We acknowledge corrections requests within two business days.

3. Types of Corrections

  • Typographical fixes — spelling, punctuation, formatting. We may correct these silently when they do not change meaning.
  • Minor factual corrections — small inaccuracies (a player’s age, a transfer fee, a scoreline detail). We update the text and add a brief note at the bottom of the article describing what was changed and when.
  • Significant corrections — errors that materially change the meaning of the article, mischaracterise a person, team, or event, or affect a reader’s understanding. We add a clearly visible correction note at the top of the article, bump the “Last updated” date, and explain what was wrong.
  • Retractions — in rare cases where an entire article is fundamentally inaccurate, we will retract it. The original URL will display a clear retraction notice explaining the reasons.

4. Notation Format

Correction notes use the following format and remain on the article permanently:

Correction (May 23, 2026): An earlier version of this article stated [incorrect claim]. The correct fact is [accurate claim]. We regret the error.

5. Updates vs. Corrections

When a story develops — new lineup, fresh result, additional context — we may add an Update note rather than a Correction note. Updates indicate that the article has new information; they do not imply the original was wrong.

6. Response Time

We aim to resolve correction requests within 48 hours of acknowledgement. Urgent corrections affecting active news cycles are handled as quickly as possible — usually within an hour for breaking news.

7. Archived Records

We do not unpublish corrected articles. The corrected version remains live with full disclosure of what was changed. This preserves the public record.

8. Editorial Responsibility

The final decision on whether to issue a correction, an update, or a retraction rests with the editor responsible for the section. Persistent inaccuracies trigger internal review of the reporter, the editor, and the workflow that produced them.

9. Recent Corrections

A summary log of significant corrections may be maintained on this page and updated periodically.
